Early voting is underway in Caldwell County.
Laws have changed to allow any registered voter to take advantage of the opportunity for early voting before the actual election day. Jill Phelps serves as an election officer with the Caldwell County Clerk’s office and shared no excuse early voting is now available.
Phelps shared why the voting center was moved from the courthouse to Southside.
They are expecting a smooth election process this year due to experienced workers and the planning from County Clerk Jennifer Hale.
Phelps said early voting at Southside will continue Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Voting on Election Day will take place on Tuesday, November 7, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday saw a steady stream of folks casting their ballots at the voting center located on Nichols Street in Princeton. Everyone is reminded to have their driver’s license ready when arriving to vote. For questions about the election, contact the clerk’s office at (270) 365-6754.
WPKY will air comprehensive election coverage beginning at 6:00 Tuesday evening, November 7, after the polls close in western Kentucky.
