Sample Fulfills Childhood Dream With Legacy Childcare Center Opening

The owner of a new childcare center in Princeton fulfilled a dream when she opened the doors Monday morning.
The Legacy Child Development Center is owned by Kathy Jo Sample, who said Monday’s opening was exciting for her.


click to download audioSample spent 26 years of her life in childcare preparing for her dream of working in facilities in Muhlenberg County, Paducah, and in the local school system and health department, as well as keeping children in her home. She explained the name Legacy came from stories about how her grandparents have left a legacy for others and she hopes to be able to do the same thing. She describes the childcare as a faith-based operation. Sample had searched for a place to open her childcare and plans to maintain the current facility but hopes to add more space in the future.

Hours of operation are weekdays from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm and they are currently at full capacity of 31 children.
