During its November session, the Caldwell County Grand Jury returned seven felony indictments and two no-true bills.
A true bill was returned on 41-year old Christopher McCallister, of Mountairy, North Carolina, on several charges including speeding, first-degree fleeing and evading police, reckless driving, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
The charges stem from September 21 when a Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle for driving 86 mph in a 55 mph on U.S. 62. The driver, McCallister, reportedly refused to stop and a pursuit ensued on several county roads and into Hopkins County before returning to Caldwell County. The pursuit ended on I-69 southbound when a legal intervention was used to stop McCallister.
The grand jury also returned a no true bill, dismissing three counts of disregarding a traffic signal lodged against McCallister.
30-year old Christopher Scott Mullinix, of Princeton, was indicted on multiple charges including first-degree wanton endangerment, DUI – second offense, first-degree fleeing or evading police, second-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree persistent felony offender. No information has been released from Kentucky State Police regarding the charges from September 2nd.
The grand jury also returned a no true bill, dismissing seven counts of disregarding a stop sign lodged against Mullinix.
A true bill was returned on 46-year old Billy Don Waynick, of Princeton, on charges of receiving stolen property $10,000 or more, first-degree possession of a forged instrument, and first-degree persistent felony offender.
Waynick was arrested by Princeton Police on a warrant on August 5th after an investigation into him allegedly trying to sell a car that was reported stolen from Memphis, Tennessee. Detectives reportedly recovered the vehicle in Waynick’s possession as well as a fictitious title.
47-year old Joseph Traylor, of Princeton, was indicted on charges of second-degree assault. According to the indictment, Traylor intentionally caused physical injury to a female victim by using a dangerous instrument on May 9th.
The grand jury indicted 37-year old Laury Channell, also known as Laury Hollingsworth, of Eddyville, on a third-degree assault charge. The indictment alleges Channell intentionally caused injury to Caldwell County Constable Brian Hicks on July 14th.
A true bill was returned on 47-year old Shannon Potts, of Union City, Tennessee, on charges of third-degree burglary and first-degree felony offender from March 25, 2021.
And, 44-year old Brandy Hodges, of Princeton, was indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from August 23 when Princeton Police arrested Hodges on a fugitive warrant and she was reportedly found in possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
