Christ Tabernacle Purchases New Building for Future Resource Center

Christ Tabernacle has recently acquired a new building near downtown Princeton that will be utilized as its resource center starting in January.
Missy Gill affiliated with the Food Pantry at Christ Tabernacle, recounted the origins of the food pantry’s establishment at Christ Tabernacle about a decade ago.

click to download audioShe added that there have been numerous changes throughout the years and trials, including a tornado and the COVID pandemic; however, she stressed that amidst all the trials, they have witnessed the unwavering spirit of the community to help people.
Gill also mentioned that the Feeding America monthly food distribution has expanded to accommodate hundreds of individuals who are in need of food.

click to download audioAccording to Gill, the acquisition of the old Times-Leader building occurred after they received a grant earlier this year specifically designated for purchasing a building.

click to download audioShe highlighted that they have one final large-scale distribution before undergoing the change, but assured the community moving into another building is not a bad thing.

click to download audioAt the facility, Gill also mentioned that there will be opportunities for individuals to find additional resources.

click to download audioShe mentioned that the final mass distribution at the Food Pantry will take place on December 15th, after which they will transition to the old Times-Leader building with a new system in place.

click to download audioGill mentioned that the most challenging aspect of the transition would be that everyone would have to schedule an appointment before visiting the new resource center. She pointed out that the phone number and other relevant information would be available in December.
