A Marion woman and Tiline man were killed and two children were flown to out-of-state hospitals for injuries after a three-vehicle wreck in Crittenden County Saturday afternoon.
Kentucky State Police Post 2 responded to the collision on U.S. 60 near the 5-mile marker around 4 p.m.
According to state police, a preliminary investigation revealed 21-year old Jesika Dunkan of Marion was driving an SUV eastbound on U.S. 60 when she crossed the center line and entered the westbound lane where she struck the rear side of a pickup truck driven by 28-year old Charles Blankenship of Tiline. Dunkan’s vehicle then reportedly crashed head-on into a car driven by 59-year old Harold Glendening of Tiline.
State police report Dunkan was transported to Crittenden Community Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Glendening was reportedly transported to Livingston County Hospital where he died from his injuries.
State police say a 2-year old passenger in Dunkan’s vehicle was transported to Crittenden Community Hospital and life-flighted to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
A 7-year old passenger in Glendening’s vehicle was transported to Livingston County Hospital and then life-flighted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
Police indicate a 3-year old passenger in Blankenship’s truck was not injured.
KSP was assisted on the scene by the Kentucky Highway Department, Crittenden County EMS, Livingston County EMS, Crittenden County Coroner, Livingston County Coroner, Marion Police Department, Crittenden County Sheriff Department, and Trice Hughes.
The investigation is ongoing by a KSP accident reconstructist.
