Carrie Ovey-Wiggins Announces Bid for Re-election as Commonwealth’s Attorney

Carrie Ovey-Wiggins has announced she is seeking a second term as Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 56th Judicial District which includes Caldwell, Lyon, Livingston and Trigg counties.
In a social media post announcing her intent to serve a second eight-year term, Ovey-Wiggins said she has overseen the prosecution of over 5,000 felony indictments and prosecuted numerous felony offenders resulting in lengthy prison sentences.
She said her office has secured the conviction and life sentence for three Trigg County murder suspects as well as lengthy jail sentences for child rape and drug trafficking.
Ovey-Wiggins said she has made it a priority to work hand in hand with law enforcement and corrections to ensure that felony offenders are held accountable for their actions.
She is a past recipient of the Sword of Justice Award from the Kentucky Commonwealth’s Attorneys’ Association, which is an award that honors a prosecutor for ceaseless dedication to the pursuit of justice.
