Community members will have the opportunity to attend two informational meetings scheduled in Caldwell and Lyon counties next week to learn more about a proposed solar project.
RWE Clean Energy, LLC will host its first open house to provide information about its proposed Pleasant Valley Solar project in Lyon County. The event will take place Tuesday evening, December 12, from 5:00 to 7:30 at the Lyon County Convention Center on Lee S Jones Park Road in Eddyville.

The second open house will be held in Caldwell County Wednesday evening, December 13, from 5:00 to 7:30 in the Activities Building at Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located at 303 Cassidy Avenue in Fredonia.

As per RWE officials, both open houses will provide identical information and follow an open, drop-in format. Community members are encouraged to attend either of the two events and stop by at their convenience.

Officials indicate that the Pleasant Valley Solar project is expected to be a solar generation facility with a capacity of up to 125 megawatts. It will be connected to a 161-kilovolt transmission line owned by Big Rivers Electric Corporation, which runs through the project area. It’s proposed to be located on 1,027 acres on the border of Lyon and Caldwell counties east of the Western Kentucky Correctional Facility. Notably, it will be adjacent to RWE Clean Energy’s Ashwood Solar project, which is currently under construction.

If you cannot attend either meeting in person or have additional questions regarding Pleasant Valley Solar, contact Paul Griffin at RWE via email at paul.griffin@rwe.com or call (872) 2577-4451.
