Glenda Harper, who has dedicated almost two decades to her role as Caldwell County Treasurer, will be retiring from her position at the end of this year.
During a retirement reception on Friday afternoon, Harper shared with Your WPKY News Edge that her involvement in government spans over three decades.

click to download audioAfter retiring, her plans include continuing to be involved in software work with other counties. Additionally, she plans to enjoy quality time with her husband of 47 years, Greg, along with her five grandchildren.
Harper expressed her gratitude towards the kind individuals she has worked alongside in the county throughout her career.

District 1 Magistrate Elbert Bennett said he and Harper had traveled together over the last 20 years to many conferences in the state. On Thursday, he said she was recognized at the KaCO Executive Board meeting when retirements were mentioned.
District 2 Magistrate Jeff Boone echoed the sentiment and expressed his gratitude for her willingness to explain complex matters that were not easily understood.
