Three Lyon County residents were arrested on meth-related charges after investigations by the sheriff’s office and Western KY Violent Crimes Task Force.
Sheriff Brent White says 42-year old Joseph Gillaspie of Kuttawa, 41-year old Sonja Pentecost of Eddyville, and 65-year old Garland Springs of Eddyville, were taken into custody on Friday and Saturday, December 8th and December 9th.
Gillaspie was charged on a Lyon County Circuit Court Indictment Warrant for possession of methamphetamine-firearm enhanced, possession of a firearm by a convicted felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, and persistent felony offender.
Sheriff White reports that the Task Force investigated and charged Gillaspie with several meth-related offenses in 2022 including two cases of trafficking greater than 2 grams and one case of possession. He says Gillaspie was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison; however, he was granted shock probation in November 2022. He indicates the charges in this indictment stem from new investigations.
Pentecost was charged on a Lyon Circuit Court Indictment Warrant with two counts of trafficking meth and persistent felony offender.
Sheriff White says Pentecost has an extensive criminal history as it pertains to convictions for robbery, burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, aggravated assault, and felony drug offenses.
Springs was charged with trafficking meth greater than 2 grams, trafficking marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, prescription not in proper container, and numerous traffic offenses.
According to Sheriff White, Gillaspie, Pentecost and Springs were all lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.
