KY Product Development Projects Advance to Round 2, Including In Caldwell and Lyon Counties

Governor Andy Beshear revealed some exciting news during his Team Kentucky Update Thursday — the Kentucky Product Development initiative has progressed to Round 2 and includes 46 projects spread across 45 counties, including Caldwell and Lyon.

Governor Beshear emphasized his record-breaking first term in private sector investment and creating new jobs in Kentucky. To continue this economic prosperity and attract even more companies to the state, Beshear said they have to continue to invest in site development in build-ready communities.

click to download audioHe then shared that the 46 site and building development projects across the 45 counties have now moved into the advanced due diligence Round 2 Stage of the Kentucky Product Development Initiative.

click to download audioBeshear added that provided all of these applications, which have gotten through the first round of approval, get through the due diligence stage it will be another $68.8 million in state investment, matched by local investment in these areas that can help move these sites forward and attract an important employer.

The governor also announced that a group of the state’s Connectors — the true boots on the ground that help Kentuckians access healthcare coverage — are now stationed at all Kentucky Community & Technical College System full-time, which includes the campuses of Hopkinsville Community College and Madisonville Community College.
