Caldwell County Fiscal Court recently welcomed the new ambulance service director and heard updates about grants and property tax collections.
During last Friday’s meeting, Bobby Woosley said he will be the new Caldwell County EMS Director after Mark Harrison retires at the end of the year.
click to download audioSheriff Don Weedman presented an update about property tax collections, highlighting that his office has successfully collected nearly 80 percent of the total amount. So far, he said approximately $4.7 million has been collected.
In addition, Sheriff Weedman expressed satisfaction with the performance of the new tax collection system.
click to download audioDuring the meeting, Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin provided an update to the magistrates regarding the weather siren grant facilitated by the Red Cross and Pennyrile Area Rural Development. McCaslin informed them that the grant is expected to be finalized by the end of this month.
According to McCaslin, the processing of the mitigation grant for new generators is still ongoing.
