Dr. James F. “Doc” Britt, age 72, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at his home. Dr. Britt was born on January 16, 1951, in Cairo, IL to the late George A. Britt and Grace M. Schultz Britt. He
graduated from Meridian High School in Olmsted, IL and Logan University in St. Louis, MO. He owned and operated Britt Chiropractic where he was beloved by his patients as a chiropractor for 49 years in Dawson Springs, KY. He loved his
Lord and he was a member and founding Elder of the Covenant Community Church in Madisonville, KY.
Over the years, “Doc” had many interests; but his favorites were a love of classic cars, RV Camping, Hunting, Horses, Boating and he was an avid UK Fan. He also enjoyed working on the family farm in Southern Illinois.
Dr. Britt loved his entire family, and he was survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Darsi Wagner Britt, of Dawson Springs, KY; three sons, Dr. James Eric Britt of Dawson Springs, KY, Michael Jon Britt (Melissa) of Magnolia, Arkansas;
and Nathan James Britt of Dawson Springs, KY; one sister, Teresa Inman (Dean) of Charlottesville, VA; six grandchildren, Chloe Britt, Elijah Britt, Makayla Britt, Myles Britt, Kynlei Webb and John Denver; two sisters-in-law, Denise Tokar
(Chuck) of Chicago Ridge, IL, and Ida Britt of Grand Chain, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Rodney Britt.
Visitation for Dr. James “Doc” Britt will be Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Covenant Community Church with Rev. Michael Knight and Rev. Andrew Harris officiating. Burial will follow in
McNeely Cemetery near Dawson Springs, KY.
