Ronald Connor, 75, of Eddyville

Ronald E. Connor, age 75, of Eddyville, KY, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Baptist Health Paducah, KY. Dad, Grandpa, Papa or Paparoni as he was affectionately referred to by those who loved him best. He was a retired tool and die maker from Caterpillar Industries and was a craftsman capable of creating anything.

He was a lifelong bass fisherman and top-notch handyman. He was an animal whisperer who had a passion for every creature. He was always making sure all the animals and wildlife had plenty of food and treats to eat on a daily basis. He was dedicated to filling his hummingbird feeders several times a day so they were never empty. He even had raccoons that would come into his home that he would hand feed with cookies.

He was a friend to all and was beyond generous with his time and knowledge. He was always willing to offer his advice on how to fix something, build something or troubleshoot any problem. He was a selfless caregiver that was dedicated to those that needed him during their most difficult times – including his mother, father, his friend Mr Bill and his loving wife, Barb. His life was extremely fulfilled by family, boating, laughing, hobbies, skills, and tackling any task at hand. We will miss his daily presence in our lives, but he has left lasting impressions on each of us that will endure well beyond his time on earth.

Survivors include three daughters, Sheri Hopkins, Pekin, IL, Angela (Butch) Dowds, Marquette Heights, IL Kelly (Stuart) Ruwe, St. Louis, MO; one son Buddy (Natasha) Hopkins, Ledbetter, KY; on son-in-law, Brad Griffin, Paducah, KY one sister, Anita Peck, Danville, IL, fifteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two nieces.

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, Maynard Connor, his parents, Harold F. Connor and Elizabeth Scott Connor, one daughter, Kimberly Griffin and two brothers, Mike Connor and Tommy Connor.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville, KY. Graveside services will be at 12 Noon on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Paducah, KY.
