Barn Destroyed and Home Damaged in Caldwell County Fire

A barn was destroyed and a home was damaged in a fire in Caldwell County Wednesday morning.

Caldwell County Fire Chief Brent Francis said firefighters responded to the structure fire before 3 am on West Fork Road located between Farmersville and the Creswell communities.

click to download audioHe said the barn fire also caused slight damage to the siding of a home next to the structure.

In addition, Chief Francis said they also suspect a heat lamp started a fire a few days ago in an outbuilding on Dawson Road.

click to download audioWith the weather forecast calling for temperatures to plummet this weekend, Chief Francis also wants to remind the public to be careful when using heat lamps.

click to download audioAccording to Chief Francis, there were no injuries reported in the barn fire Wednesday morning. He said eight of firefighters from his department responded to the fire along with five or six firefighters from the Fredonia Volunteer Fire Department.
