A juvenile is facing multiple charges after allegedly kicking in the door to a Princeton home and leading officers on a pursuit over the weekend.

Chief Chris King says officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Mechanic Street around 3:50 Saturday morning after they received a complaint that someone had kicked in the door and entered the home. The suspect reportedly threatened the residents inside and then fled in an SUV.

According to Chief King, officers located a vehicle matching the description on Depot Street and when they attempted to stop it, the driver fled. He says officers pursued the vehicle for several blocks but discontinued the pursuit due to safety concerns.

Officers were able to identify the suspect and the 16-year old juvenile was taken into custody on Leech Street around 4:50 Saturday morning.

The juvenile was charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree fleeing or evading police, instructional permit violations, and reckless driving. Chief King reports the juvenile was released to a parent.
