John Orr Salter, age 73, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY. Mr. Salter was born on February 24, 1950, in Detroit, MI to the late Herbert Edward Salter and Barbara Dunbar Orr Salter. He received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and worked sales and was a regional director for Motorola upon retirement. Mr. Salter was a member of First Baptist Church in Dawson Springs, KY.
Survivors include his wife ~ Nancy McGregor Salter of Dawson Springs, KY; a daughter and son-in-law~ Storey Dunbar and Matthew Parker of Charlotte, NC; two sons and daughters-in-law ~ Joshua Orr and Holly Salter of Eagle Mountain, UT and Kendall and Laura Bennett of Benton, KY; ten grandchildren ~ Cooper Marshall, Molly Marshall, Cameron Parker, Harrison Parker, Cameron Salter, Lauren Salter, Brooklyn Bennett, Sammy Bennett, Gustin Hulsey and Dakota Hulsey; four great-grandchildren ~ Shyler Hulsey, Jackson Hulsey, Bee Bee Hulsey and Elsa Hulsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter ~ Sabrina Hulsey; a son ~ Darrell Bennett and two brothers ~ Jay Salter and Peter Salter.
Visitation for John Orr Salter will be held Sunday, February 4, 2024 from from 1:00 PM until the Memorial Service hour at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Dawson Springs, KY with Rev. Mike Jicka officiating.
Mr. Salter’s service will be recorded and available for viewing after the service on the Beshear Funeral Home Facebook page.
