Michael Pepper, 78, of Princeton

Michael Pepper, a cherished husband, loving father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 78 on February 9, 2024, at Mercy Health Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

Born on September 22, 1945, in Cobb, Kentucky, to his late parents, Ivan Reginald and Huel Ruth Sizemore Pepper. He celebrated fifty-seven years of marriage with his high school sweetheart and beloved wife, Brenda Fortner Pepper. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in Arts from Austin Peay State University and imparted his wisdom to others as an educator at the Kentucky State Penitentiary until 1977. His professional life also included a long tenure as the Bulk Fuel Manager at Fortner Gas. One of Michael’s proudest moments was coaching the E&M Tigers baseball team to triumph as the 1980 Little League Champions. He also enjoyed the great outdoors.

Michael is survived by his wife; one daughter, Michala Pepper Smith of Hopkinsville; and one son, Chad Pepper (Michelle) of Princeton; four grandchildren, Jake Pepper (Natalie), Savannah Pepper, Eli Pepper, and Sophi Park; and two great-grandchildren, Quin and Vivi.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jason Pepper; and sister, Marilyn Ragland.

Private graveside services were held at Rowland Cemetery in Caldwell County with Rev. Steve Fortenberry officiating.
