Karen Jones Roaten, age 67, a kind and loving soul, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024, in Madisonville, KY. Born on December 24, 1956, in Princeton, KY, Karen’s life was a testament to the joy and warmth she brought to her family.
Karen, a devoted homemaker, cultivated a home filled with laughter, compassion, and care. Her passion for gardening was evident to all who knew her, as she had a remarkable green thumb that brought beauty to the world around her. She attended Green Hill Baptist Church, having previously attended Fairview Baptist Church in her youth.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Heath (Lindy) Rogers and Cody Roaten, both of Princeton; her sisters, Janet Briggs of Frisco, TX, and Connie Skropa of Benton. Karen’s legacy continues through her 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly, as well as several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Galena Boyd Jones; her son, James Rogers; and her brothers, Don Jones, Kenneth Pugh, and Raymond Pugh.
Karen’s life was a portrait of love and kindness, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her unwavering love and her tender care for her family will be cherished in memories forever.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm Friday, February 16, 2024 at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 16, 2024 at Lebanon Church Cemetery with Bro. Ira Guill officiating.
