Data Shows Kentucky Among Most Affected States Of AT&T Outage

Google search data from February 22 revealed the Commonwealth of Kentucky ranked second among those experiencing the most issues with the heavily-reported national AT&T network outage.

Researchers determined which states were most affected by calculating the search interest for six related queries per capita in each state, and Kentucky had a search interest score of 482 out of 600.

Google data indicates residents searched “ATT SOS” more than any other state, was second for “ATT down,” “ATT outage,” and “ATT network down.”

Arkansas residents experienced the most widespread issues compared to other states.

And according to the Google data, West Virginia, Louisiana and Indiana were states that experienced the third to fifth most significant outage issues.

Online searches for ‘Cancel ATT’ spiked 567% in the United States, as the telecommunications giant’s network experienced a national outage.

More than 291,000 AT&T users reported outages between 3:30-6:50 AM Eastern Time, per data from Downdetector.com. US Google searches for ‘ATT customer service’ and ‘why is my phone in SOS mode’ skyrocketed by 5,782% and 16,566%, respectively, as customers found out they would be affected.

Verizon, T-Mobile and UScellular users also reported problems with their service.
