Teon Kareem Thornton, age 51, of Owensboro, formerly of Princeton, departed this life on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital after a long illness.
Teon was born June 27, 1972, in Caldwell County to Ronnie and Penny Thornton of Owensboro. He acknowledged Christ as his personal savior at an early age and joined Shephard Street Baptist Church under the pastorship of the late Rev. J.T. Landers. He later joined Ebeneezer Baptist in Owensboro.
He received his education in the Caldwell County School Systems, Owensboro Community College and truck driving school. He was united in holy matrimony to Melissa D. Harlin Thornton on August 6, 2011, in Clovis, New Mexico and to this union they have two daughters.
Teon leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Melissa Thornton of Owensboro; parents, Ronnie and Penny Thornton of Owensboro; daughters, Felicia Thornton and Azaryia Thornton of Owensboro; sons, Christopher Oliver of Princeton, Hasheid Thornton of Owensboro, Ashaurion Thornton of Owensboro; sisters, Lakisha Johnson of Michigan City, IN, Tameka Gray of Hickman, KY, Meiko Berlack of Princeton; brothers, Lamont (Roxane) Thornton of Sacramento, CA, Anthony Thornton of Owensboro, Carson Thornton of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Tayleigh, Annie, Madison and two future grandsons; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Zhauntez Thornton; brother, Christopher Walker; grandparents, Ruby and Jessie Gray, William Copeland, Ophelia Woolridge and Ray L. Mims.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
