Governor Andy Beshear revealed on Thursday that 2023 saw a record-breaking amount of Kentucky-made products being shipped around the world.
In his Team Kentucky Update, Beshear announced that the commonwealth had exceeded its previous best single-year export total, reaching over $40.2 billion.
click to download audioHe also emphasized that the commonwealth’s dedication to global partnerships is a key factor in ensuring that Kentucky remains a premier destination for business, offering top-notch products.
This announcement followed Governor Beshear’s statement that his administration had experienced the most successful four-year period of economic growth in the state’s history.
click to download audioAccording to Beshear, the strong job creation in the commonwealth has been coupled with increasing wages. It was reported that the average incentivized hourly wage surpassed $26 in both 2022 and 2023, marking the first time this has occurred in consecutive years.
In addition, the Governor also reminded Kentuckians that Severe Weather Awareness Week is March 1-6.

In his update, Governor Beshear also extended congratulations to Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman, who was named on Thursday as USA Today’s Women of the Year honoree from Kentucky. The Governor expressed that he believed there was no one more deserving of the honor.
