Representatives from the George Coon Public Library gave an update this week on the progress of the upstairs renovation project, which is close to being finished.
Library Director Nichelle Faughn and Rebecca Poole, in charge of programming, reported that the renovation project is progressing smoothly and is nearly complete, with some books already relocated back to the upstairs area.
click to download audioShe also mentioned that while not all of the books are in their final locations, they have been returned to the upstairs area.
Faughn expressed her satisfaction with the renovation, while Poole mentioned that the children are already enjoying the new space.
click to download audioFaughn said that once all items are moved upstairs and the renovation is finished, the library will host a grand reopening event for the community, with details to be announced soon.
Furthermore, Poole revealed some upcoming events, such as an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt for all ages scheduled to take place at the library from March 1 to March 30.
