Joetta Stromatt of Lexington, KY and formerly of Caldwell County, passed away on February 26, 2024 at her home.
Joetta was born on March 9, 1955 in Fredonia, KY to the late Joseph Stromatt, Sr., and Edith Mae Thomason Stromatt. A legal practitioner by profession and a certified financial planner, Joetta was the respected owner of Stromatt & Associates in Lexington, where she specialized in Social Security Disability Law. Her professional life was a testament to her passion for assisting others, and her career was interwoven with a dedication to advocacy and community service. Joetta will be remembered for her unwavering free spirit of generosity and her ability to connect with others. She was a voracious reader who found complete joy in the simple act of engaging with a new book. Joetta achieved and exceeded any goal she set, including visiting all fifty states in the U.S.. Her passion for traveling took her not only over the U.S. but to Europe. Joetta’s friends and family knew her as an incredibly loving and giving individual, whose intelligence paved the way for her remarkable contributions both professionally and personally.
Survivors include by her loving sister, Carol Stromatt (Bob McDowell); son, Justin Switzer (Sarah) ; nieces, Caitlyn McDowell Stromatt (Jewel) and Felisha Ortt (McCoy) ; nephews; Adam Phelps (Samantha) and Joel Phelps (Dana); great nieces, Sara Peters (McCraw), Lydia Rose Jewell and Illa Mae Phelps; great nephews, Zack Peters (Kelsey), Kaelin, Declan, Korie and C.J. Phelps; great-great nephews, Lawson and J.T. Peters; business partner and friend, Henry White; numerous other close friends and extended family
Joetta is preceded in death by her sisters, Rosa Mae Ortt, Louis Ruth Peters, and Vicky Lee Brandon; and infant brother, Joseph “Joey” Isaac Stromatt, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton, from 11:00 AM CST to 1:00 PM CST
Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM CST at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Caldwell County.
