The National Weather Service has announced the annual Kentucky Statewide Tornado Drill will be conducted Wednesday morning.
Joey McCaslin, Director of Caldwell County Emergency Management, said that the annual tornado drill will take place at 9:07 am local time.

click to download audioIf your cell phone does not activate during the statewide drill, he explains that it could be because you do not have a third-party app installed. McCaslin mentioned that if your weather radio does not activate, it could be due to one of several reasons.
click to download audioMcCaslin stated that the weather sirens in Caldwell County will be activated for a full two minutes during the tornado drill. In the event of inclement weather, the statewide tornado drill will be rescheduled.
He also mentioned that this is an opportune time to discuss emergency procedures with employees to ensure they are familiar with company policies and know what to do in a storm emergency. Additionally, he advises residents to change the batteries in their smoke detectors and weather radios when the time changes.
McCaslin mentions that the county will resume its regular monthly test of the weather sirens at noon on the last Wednesday of the month, scheduled for March 27th.
