A Princeton man arrested for driving on a suspended license during a traffic stop over the weekend is facing an additional charge after he was allegedly found in possession of drugs as he was being processed at the Caldwell County Jail.

Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison stated that 31-year-old Stephen Adamson was pulled over on Cadiz Street around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday for operating a vehicle without tail lights or brake lights. A records check revealed that Adamson’s driver’s license was suspended, and he was unable to provide proof of insurance.

Adamson was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license and no insurance 2nd offense. Additionally, he was served warrants from Caldwell County charging him with not appearing in court for traffic violations, a Christian County Bench Warrant for a felony charge, and a Muhlenberg County Bench Warrant for failing to pay fines for a traffic offense.

As Adamson was being processed into the Caldwell County Jail, it was reported that jail staff discovered a plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana on him. Officers were notified and Adamson was subsequently charged with promoting contraband.
