CCWD Requests Customers to Complete Lead Service Line Inventory Survey

The Caldwell County Water District is asking its customers for help in identifying the material used for your water service line.

Superintendent Cody Kirby explained that the federal EPA is requiring all water districts to identify the type of service lines installed in their utility systems.

As a result, he mentioned that pamphlets are available at their office for customers to collect and complete.

He further explained what customers need to look for.

According to Kirby, lead was outlawed in 1988.

He also mentioned that the water district will handle everything from the main line to the meter on the county’s side.

Kirby stated that the EPA is still determining how to address the situation if lead pipes are found.

He added that there are multiple methods available for receiving the survey to complete.

For additional details regarding the service survey, contact the Caldwell County Water District or stop by the office at 118 West Market Street in downtown Princeton.
