A Henderson County man was flown to an area hospital Wednesday afternoon after he was rescued from a grain bin.

According to first responder reports to 14 News in Evansville family members reported that a man who was trapped inside a grain bin was rescued Wednesday afternoon. Family members said the man was talking and could feel his legs.

Reports 14 News from officials indicated the man became trapped in the grain bin after it malfunctioned. Coworkers called first responders after they had not heard from the man for a few hours.

Corydon Fire Chief Brian Coghill says it took several hours to rescue the man because the grain was compressing him, which made it hard for him to move. Coghill says rescuers had to cut into the side of the grain bin and use ropes from the fire truck’s ladder to get him out.

The chief says the man was flown to an area hospital to be checked out because he was trapped inside the bin for so long.
