Jerry Don Merrick, age 77, of Eddyville, KY passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Landmark of Kuttawa. Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran and a plumber. He retired from Kentucky State Penitentiary after 28 years of service.
Survivors include two sisters, Sylvia Slaton and Carol (James) Traylor, both of Princeton, KY; two brothers, Ronnie (Becky) Merrick, Princeton, KY and Reggie Merrick of GA; special friend and caregiver, Vivian Hurley, Eddyville, KY and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Lindsey Hayden Merrick and Etta Goodaker Merrick; his wife of 52 years, Betty Sue Merrick and one brother, Marlin Merrick.
Cremation has been done at his request. A graveside memorial service at Blue Spring Cemetery in Caldwell County will be held at a later date. Lakeland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
