Caldwell County Middle School Update Presented at School Board Meeting

Dr. Tim Roy, principal of Caldwell County Middle School, last week expressed satisfaction with the findings of the Impact Kentucky Survey, while also acknowledging that there are areas in which the school can improve.

At the school board meeting held in the library at the middle school Monday night, Dr. Roy mentioned that this time of year is when things really start to pick up at the school. He highlighted that they are approaching the end of the school year, gearing up for state testing in the final 14 days, and already making plans for the upcoming school year.

Roy mentioned they have been dedicating significant time analyzing the results of the Impact Kentucky Study, which includes working conditions surveys where teachers provide feedback. He said he was pleased with the overall progress of the school compared to two years ago but noted specific areas need improvement.

According to Roy, they also have been evaluating the new reading and math curriculum this year.

This month, he said they are hosting a dodgeball tournament before spring break and taking a break from food and drink. In April, he noted with assistance from the Hope & Cope Center, they plan to provide additional refreshments for the students before testing season. He emphasized that these activities serve as a continuous reminder of their appreciation for the students’ hard work and dedication to the middle school’s achievements.
