Caldwell County Ag Agent: Healthy Lawns Key to Weed Prevention

Caldwell County Agriculture Agent Shane Bogle says maintaining a healthy and dense lawn is the most effective way to prevent weed problems in home lawns.

Bogle explains that in dense lawns, weed seeds may struggle to germinate due to the lack of light reaching the soil surface.

Bogle notes that the early arrival of spring typically leads to a rise in inquiries about home lawn care, especially regarding the timing for applying pre-emergence herbicides.
