A Princeton man was arrested on multiple charges after an alleged assault on Varmintrace Road Tuesday morning.

Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison reports officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence near the 900 block of Varmintrace Road shortly before 9:15 am. He says officers determined that a physical altercation had occurred but were unable to locate 29-year old Joseph Crawley, who reportedly assaulted the victim.

Shortly before 11:30 Tuesday morning, officers responded to the area of Skyline Drive and Kimberly Lane for reports of Crawley screaming and cussing while walking in the street. When officers made contact with Crawley and ordered him to stop, he reportedly ran from police and entered a residence near the 400 block of Kimberly Lane, and then ran out the back door. Police say they caught up with Crawley when he ran back to the residence near the 900 block of Varmintrace. As they were taking him into custody, police reported that he resisted arrest and assaulted one of the officers.

Crawley was charged with assault, alcohol intoxication, fleeing or evading police on foot, resisting arrest and assault of a police officer. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
