George Oliver, 74, of Princeton

George Oliver, a cherished soul known for his loving nature and friendly demeanor, passed away on April 9, 2024, at Baptist Health of Paducah, KY, shortly after the passing of his beloved sister Laverne Coleman. Born on June 10, 1949, in Caldwell County, KY, George’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and the strength of community ties.

For over five decades, George dedicated his professional life to Kelly and Wilmore, Watts Brothers Construction and now Star Construction, where he served as a supervisor. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his involvement in his community where he was a member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge #82 in Princeton, Shriner and member of Rizpah Temple in Madisonville and a cherished member of Christ Tabernacle in Princeton.

George was the epitome of a people person. He never met a stranger, and his ability to connect with others was unparalleled. His presence was a comfort and a joy to those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Family and friends were the cornerstone of George’s life. He relished in the time spent with loved ones, whether it was working on the farm, riding his motorcycle through the rolling hills of Kentucky, or simply sharing a meal and laughter. George’s love for sports was infectious, and he could often be found cheering on the Lyon County Lyons basketball team, University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team or his favorite NASCAR driver.
