At Monday night’s meeting, the Caldwell County school board gave the green light to a quote for rubber mulch for the playgrounds at the primary and elementary schools, and adding a district counselor at the vocational school for next year.
Following the acknowledgment of students and staff, Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach elaborated on the necessity of replacing the mulch on the playgrounds.

After Roach detailed the fund transfer and the four items to be covered, the board unanimously approved the Capital Funds request of $335,760.
click to download audioRoach also unveiled the final staffing allocations for the 2024-2025 school year, including some minor adjustments that had been tentatively approved by the board earlier in the year.
click to download audioHe mentioned that the board is actively striving to enhance its relationship with the Vocational School and ensure that all available options are offered to the students. The modifications to the staffing allocation were approved unanimously.
Furthermore, Roach suggested that the board endorse the 2024-25 Continuation of Learning Plan, which involves applying for non-traditional instruction days that need to be submitted to the Kentucky Department of Education.
click to download audioIn other new business, the board approved the acquisition of two new maintenance trucks through the state contract, amounting to a total cost of around $95,250. Roach disclosed that they had already allocated funds to procure one truck and proposed adding another to update the district’s fleet.

the board unanimously endorsed a bid from Farmers Bank for the period spanning July 2024 to June 2026, as well as the school start and end times for the 2024-25 academic year, which will remain unchanged.
