Deborah Maxie, 67, of Princeton

Deborah Ann “Debbie” Maxie, aged 67, of Princeton, KY, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2024.

Born on September 8, 1956, in Ft. Campbell, KY to the late Fred Walker, Sr. and Effie Walker.

Debbie was a cherished wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She leaves behind her loving husband of 21 years, Gary Maxie of Princeton. Her memory will be treasured by her sisters, Barbara Wiggins of Columbus, GA, Carolyn Sue Walker of Hopkinsville, and Yvonne Walker (Rico) Greene of Clarksville. Her brothers, Fred (Gloria) Walker, Jr., and Michael Keith Walker of Eddyville. Debbie’s life was also enriched by the love and laughter of a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved children, Terri Lynn Walker and Christopher Allen Walker.

Debbie dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Landmark of Kuttawa since October 2, 1985. She graduated from Madisonville Community College and during her time at Landmark of Kuttawa she served as the unit manager and assistant director of nursing. Her compassion and empathy were a comfort to countless individuals and their families during times of need. Her commitment to service extended beyond her professional role, as she was an past member of the Order of Eastern Star, #34 Queen of Sheba, and a member of the Rajah Court #58 in Hopkinsville, KY.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and she gave her life to Christ at a young age. She was baptized at Shepherd Street Baptist Church in Princeton and she joyfully served as a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Debbie’s love for music found expression in her participation in the church choir, where her voice soared in praise and worship. Music was a family affair for Debbie, who also sang in the family choir, sharing her passion and talent with those she loved most.

Debbie’s interests reflected the richness of her character. She found solace in the tranquility of fishing, the satisfaction of tending to her garden, the joy of traveling to new places, and the pleasure of singing.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Northside Baptist Church in Princeton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Northside Baptist Church in Princeton with Rev. Terrance Minor officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
