James Carner, 74, of Caldwell County

James “Mike” Carner, passed away on April 15, 2024, at the age of 74 in the Hosparus Health Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born on October 8, 1949, in Caldwell County, Kentucky to his late parents, Arvin Floyd and Rowena Grisham Carner. Mike proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Following his military service, he returned home working as a skilled welder. Mike was of the Baptist faith and was a member in the Masonic Clinton Lodge #82 where he embraced the values of brotherhood and integrity.

Mike is survived by his two daughters, Mandi Eison of Princeton and Hollie Still of Crestwood, KY; two step-sons Brian Gupton of Louisville and Brad (Leah) Gupton of Princeton; one sister Pat (Lee) Coleman of Louisville; and five grandchildren, Larkin, Finley, Xavier, Jameson, and Bailey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Gupton Carner.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Masonic rites following at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Bro. Dean Ray officiating. Private burial will follow at a later date in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
