The 72nd annual Murray State University FFA Field Day was held Wednesday at the Agriculture Expo Center at Murray State.
Caldwell County FFA joined over 70 chapters from across the area including schools from Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois and West Virginia. When the results from the contest were announced Caldwell County placed 2nd overall just 119 points short of first place Calloway County.
Caldwell FFA Advisor Megan Woods shared that the local chapter took 41 students and knew that had received first place in one contest.

click to download audioCaldwell County also came in 4th in livestock judging, 4th in nursery, 1st place in soil judging with Harper Ritchey first place individual and a tie for 5th place with Raylynn Beasley-McDaniel in bull riding.
The Field Day was hosted by the Hutson School of Agriculture of Murray State University. There were 1280 students registered to compete in the various contest for the day
