A Princeton man wanted for escape was apprehended in Lyon County Saturday afternoon following a reported crime spree.

According to Sheriff Brent White, 30-year old Gregory Munsell was taken into custody while in a Kuttawa business around 3 pm.

As previously reported, Munsell was waiting to be processed at the Caldwell County Jail when he ran out the door on Friday, April 12, and didn’t return. Sheriff White says Munsell was tracked to McCracken County where he’s accused of stealing a pickup truck on Tuesday and was the subject of a manhunt but managed to escape being captured.

Munsell is also accused of committing a burglary at the Malloy’s Korner convenience store in southern Lyon County around 10:00 Friday night. Sheriff White says Munsell fled the scene and later drove to Crittenden County where he burglarized an automobile dealership on US 60 West in Marion shortly before 4:30 Saturday morning.

Authorities from Caldwell and Lyon counties tracked Munsell to a Kuttawa business where he was taken into custody without further incident. At the time of his arrest, Sheriff White says Munsell was in possession of the stolen pickup truck from McCracken County.

Munsell was charged in Lyon County with burglary, criminal mischief, and receiving stolen property, an auto. In addition, he was charged on arrest warrants with escape by the Princeton Police Department, theft of an auto by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, and parole violation by Kentucky Probation and Parole. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office and Marion Police Department. Sheriff White says charges are pending by the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office for the burglary that occurred there.
