A Marion man was issued a citation for multiple shoplifting charges that occurred from February to May at a Princeton store.
According to Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison, 38-year-old Charles Elliott was charged with 18 counts of shoplifting from Walmart on 18 different occasions between February 23 and May 3. He says the investigation revealed that Elliott altered the prices on various items to lower amounts and then proceeded to purchase them through the self-checkout. As a result, he said Elliott paid only around $87 for merchandise that was valued at approximately $1,050.
