Former Princeton Mayor Vickie Hughes Ward passed away unexpectedly on Monday night.
She was the first female to be elected mayor of the City of Princeton in 2002.
Co-workers of the former mayor shared their memories of Ward after hearing of her passing on Tuesday morning. City Clerk Julie Poole worked with Ward before they both began their time with the City. Poole remembered her time when working with her at the Princeton Times-Leader and later at City Hall.
