Don Travis, age 88, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at his home.
Don was born on September 3, 1935, in Crittenden County to the late Elijah “Lige” and Lillian “Pearl” Beck Travis. Don’s greatest joy in life was his family; he treasured every moment spent with them, especially his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Carolyn Driver Travis of Eddyville; one daughter, Marla Holloman of Eddyville; one son, Darryl (Cindy) Travis of Smiths Grove, KY; six grandchildren, Allison (Chance) Lucas, Erin Smith, Hannah (Kolten) Lynn, Kara Travis, Britney (Eric) Lyles and Nicole (Chris) Cline; nine great-grandchildren, Nora Lucas, Mara Lucas, Beck Lucas, Rowan Smith, Declan Smith, Charlotte Lyles, Caroline Lyles, Maddux Cline and Miles Cline.
In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his brother, Lonnie Travis.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lakeland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM at Lakeland Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Church Cemetery in Lyon County.
