A suspicious vehicle complaint in Lyon County last week led to the arrest of a man wanted on a McCracken County warrant.
Lyon County Deputy Sheriff Josh Travis arrested Jeffery Copas on a McCracken County District Court complaint warrant around 2:00 Sunday afternoon, May 12, charging him with receiving stolen property – a firearm, public intoxication and possession of marijuana.
According to the report, Copas was the subject of a suspicious vehicle complaint on Calhoun Road after noon on Sunday. He was apprehended in a field area near a vacant home after a manhunt in the area was conducted by the sheriff’s office and Kentucky State Police.
Copas was additionally charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and three counts of criminal trespassing. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
