The Princeton City Council approved a municipal road aid resolution at Monday night’s meeting and received updates on personnel changes within the police department, along with a hiring event for a new fast food restaurant coming to town.
The council unanimously approved the annual municipal road aid agreement of approximately $136,892 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024.
In other new business, council members unanimously authorized Mayor Brock Thomas to advertise for paving bids and approved the reappointment of Fredonia Mayor Jim Seibert to the PeADD Board of Directors.

In other reports, Jenny Clark from the city’s Planning Commission announced that there will be a hiring event for a fast food restaurant set to open soon on US 62 West.
Furthermore, she said there are other job openings available in the community.

click to download audioPrinceton Fire Chief Brent Francis informed the City Council that the Take Kids event held this past Saturday at Tradewater Park in Dawson Springs was a success. City Councilwoman Pat George, who also participated in the event, noted that it had the highest number of participants to date.
In addition, Chief Francis mentioned the P&L Train Ride for first responders, held on Saturday, was also a pleasant event.
Director and Animal Control Officer Kevin Lane provided an update on the number of dogs at the Caldwell County Animal Shelter and the recent Mother’s Day Event.
