A Princeton City Council member has announced she will not be running for reelection in the November General Election.

In a written statement to WPKY’s News Edge after the City Council meeting Monday night, Morgan Rousseau said that she does not intend to file for reelection. She added that the last six years have been rewarding and a fine learning experience serving on the Council. She stated that she had the privilege to work with two intelligent, forward-thinking mayors and five invested council members, who all strived to make Princeton a place we can be proud of. Rousseau said much has been accomplished in that time, but it’s now time for her to step away and allow room for a fresh voice to come forward to serve the city.

As the deadline approaches to file there will be at least one open seat on the Council that will need to be filled in the November General Election. The deadline to file to run is 4 pm on June 4th.
