Glenda Holt, 74, of Princeton

Glenda Elsie (Baggett) Holt, 74, passed away peacefully at her home on May 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 28, 1950, in Madisonville, KY. Glenda was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Throughout her illness, she never stopped being the smart and loving person we all knew and cherished. Glenda’s smile would brighten anyone’s day no matter the situation. She had a way of making us all feel special. With Glenda, you were in the presence of true, unconditional love. Her kindness will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to have known her. Glenda loved to read, work in the yard, vacation with her family, and spend time with her husband. She took great pride in her family and enjoyed attending graduations, the births of her grandchildren, weddings, and family reunions. Glenda had five siblings that she adored throughout her life. She enjoyed school and graduated from West Hopkins High School in 1968 where she was a cheerleader, class secretary and voted “Best Personality”.

As a young woman, Glenda experienced “love at first sight” when she met Terry Holt. The two were high school sweethearts and married on December 17, 1967. Terry enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1968. Glenda bravely traveled with him and had their first daughter in 1969. Glenda was an amazing homemaker. Over the years, the two had three more daughters. Glenda and Terry built a life together and set an example of true love for 56 years.

Glenda is survived by her devoted spouse, Terry Holt. She is also survived by her loving daughters Lori Young of Princeton, Melissa Neighbors (Michael) of Kuttawa, Brenda Holt of Princeton, and Belinda Holt of Princeton. Glenda is remembered fondly by her brother Donald Baggett (Charlotte) of Dawson Springs and Lonnie Baggett (Pam) of Dawson Springs. She is also survived by her sister Bonnie Holt (Jerry) of Princeton and sister Delane Hobgood (Jim) of Webster County.

Glenda will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Terry Michael Young of Hopkinsville, Jordan McKinley (Jake) of Cleveland TN, Alicia Martin (Wes) of Eddyville, Travis Humphrey (Karyn) of Kuttawa, Becca Neighbors of Kuttawa, Allie Holt of Kuttawa, Josh Cummins (JonRenee) of Princeton, Sarah Conway of Princeton, Anna Hughes of Princeton, Jonathan Hughes of Kuttawa; as well as twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James and Earlene Baggett, and brother James Robert Baggett.

Visitation and funeral services to honor Glenda’s life will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024. The visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM at Goodman Funeral Home located at 1032 West Main St in Princeton, KY with Bro. J.D. Holt & Bro. Duane Burton officiating. Burial to follow at Eddy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Princeton, KY.

Glenda Elsie Holt will be remembered for her kindness, love for her family, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Her legacy of warmth and care will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
