Pennyrile Electric has made significant progress since Sunday getting power restored to members in its service area, including in Caldwell and Lyon counties.
After Sunday’s storms, Pennyrile Electric reported over 22,000 members in its service area were without power.
Spokesman Brent Gilkey tells WPKY’s News Edge the storms knocked out power to all of their members in both counties on Sunday, He adds they serve about 1,483 in Lyon County and approximately 1,012 in Caldwell County. Of those, he says about 770 members are still without power as of Wednesday morning.

click to download audioGilkey expressed optimism that the significant outage in Caldwell County will be resolved soon. They mentioned that a considerable number of people are working diligently to pinpoint the cause of the disruption.
As of Wednesday morning, Kenery’s Outage Map shows 164 members without power in Caldwell County and no outages in Lyon County.
Kentucky Utilities (KU) is showing under 50 outages in Caldwell County and under 10 power outages in Lyon County.
