
A Dawson Springs man was killed when his car collided with a dump truck in Hopkins County Thursday afternoon.
According to Kentucky State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that 38-year old Justin Hilt was traveling westbound on KY 70 when he attempted to pass another westbound vehicle and his car collided head-on with an eastbound dump truck driven by 29-year old Jacob Adams of Dawson Springs.
Police say Hilt was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner.
The wreck occurred around 5:00 p.m. approximately 3 miles west of Madisonville.
