City-County Park Announces Exciting Summer Activities

Park Director Stephanie Stallins has announced a variety of activities that the City-County Park is offering to the community this summer.

Stallins began by sharing the mission statement of the City-County Park.

click to download audioShe mentioned that although they had many ideas last year, they couldn’t implement them due to the pool renovations. However, they are incorporating some of those ideas this year, including Wiffleball Wednesday, which she anticipates will become increasingly popular.

click to download audioWiffleball Wednesday takes place every Wednesday morning at 10:00 at the City-County Park. The cost is $5 per person, and up 20 people can participate.

Additionally, Stallins announced that the City-County Park is now offering 30-minute individual baseball and softball skills sessions for the children and youth in our community.

click to download audioShe mentioned that they aim to keep these groups very small and closely age-matched to ensure quality instruction time. The cost will be $15 for each 30-minute session, scheduled in 30-minute increments between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. To sign up your child, call 270-963-3510.

Furthermore, Stallins explained that it’s not too late to sign up for swim lessons, although the situation with the pool remains uncertain.
