Donald W. Dillingham of Princeton, KY, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on June 8, 2024, at Baptist Health of Madisonville at the age of 82. He was born on December 13, 1941, in Princeton to the late Walter and Ollie Mae Dillingham. Donald was a member of Donaldson Baptist Church. Donald’s kind and gentle personality touched the lives of many.
Donald dedicated over 25 years of his life to his career as a truck teamster driver before retiring from Redi-Mix in Crystal Lake, IL. A simple man of many talents, he took pleasure in working with his hands, whether it was building cars from scratch, crafting furniture, or constructing homes. In his leisure time, he cherished meeting with his friends for coffee at Heatons. Most importantly, Donald treasured spending time with his children, grandchildren, and family.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Sandy Dillingham, of 61 years and their children: Mark Dillingham (Lisa) of Belvidere, IL; Shari McIntyre (Dan) of Kingston, IL; Lisa Vilt (Rick) of Princeton, KY. He is also survived by his brother Maurice Dillingham (Gayle) of Prescott Valley, AZ. Donald leaves behind a legacy in the hearts of his grandchildren: Allison Dillingham; Jake Dillingham (Lilly); Ashley De La Rosa (Jeff); Michael McIntyre; Bryce Vilt (Kristi); Austin Vilt (Michelle); Aaron Vilt (Rayghan); Bailee Scianna; Mitch Scianna. Additionally, he will be remembered by four great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his daughter Kristi Scianna, his brothers: Aaron Dillingham, Walter Dillingham, James Dillingham, Johnnie Dale Dillingham and by his sisters: Dorothy McIntosh and Ruby Dean.
Services to honor and celebrate Donald’s life will be held at Goodman Funeral Home on Thursday, June 13, 2024. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 12:00 PM with Bro. Mike Davis & Bro. Bobby McIntosh officiating.
