Leon Akin, 79, of Dawson Springs, passed on June 10, 2024 at his home.
He was born on March 3, 1945, in Christian County, Kentucky to his late parents, Samuel and Anna Mae Akin. Leon operated heavy machinery for Kelly & Wilmore Construction. Leon enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR, and tending to his garden.
Leon is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Virginia “Sue” Grant Akin; one son, Sam Akin of Princeton; and one stepson, James Compton of Nortonville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Louis Akin.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery in Christian County.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
