A Princeton man has been charged with theft of an auto dealer’s license plate following an investigation into a May traffic stop.
Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison says 40-year old David Oliver was taken into custody on a warrant around 10:30 Monday morning charging him with theft of a motor vehicle registration plate, a Class D felony, and non-dealer who procured dealer plates to evade taxes.
According to police, the charges stem from an investigation of a traffic stop on May 30 where Oliver was driving a vehicle bearing a Kentucky dealer’s plate. The investigation revealed that the dealer’s plate had been stolen from a vehicle that belonged to Allen’s Auto Sales in Christian County.
